Title:
The Moon is a Spoon website Robbie and Sara are so cool. Never afraid to be gentle, to start slow, rather than blast away from the first chord. It's definitely this tenderness that intrigues me and sets this band apart from other rock / pop bands. Great playing too keeps the songs strong, tight and radio wise. I do think that the snare drum overall is mixed too low, meaning parts that should feel like they're shifting into overdrive lack the essential balls - even if it is just by a ball hair.. The floor tom by comparison is right up there, but used mostly in the verses. I know this a little too technical, but it really did bug me - coz there's nothing wrong with the playing and I just kept thinking how easy it would've been to push up that little fader. 'The Moon is a Spoon', 'Rocketship', parts with brushes, even the guitar solos and the short 'Daylight' are great. Sara should do more backing vocals too - I liked that.
