Title:
Gathering website Marcus finally brings us his own compositions having recorded with all the jazz cats over the last ten years. Winston Mankunku, The Truly Fully Hey Shoo Wow Band, Vusi Mahlasela, Jimmy Dludlu, Paul Hanmer and Sibongile Khumalo have all employed Mr Wyatt's trumpet & lungs to great review. He has a knack for writing strong melodies which have both African and Western influences and is why this album is so damn good - not to mention that he has Johnny Fourie, Carlo Mombelli on bass, Herbie Tsoaeli, Andile Yenana on piano, Buddy wells on sax, Lulu Gontsana etc. etc.. all playing for him now which means it's damn tight too. Check out 'Lullaby for an African Princess' and 'Owed to Bishop' - cracking good debut.
