This is a brilliant representation of the diversity of the more underground bands in Cape Town that struggle to get their music heard in the rest of the country, let alone overseas. Felix Laband, who now has a full album out on the African Dope label, has in my opinion, contributed the finest track on this compilation - a kind of jazzy trip hop tune which is laid back, unpretentious and beautiful. Other stand out tracks include: Colorfields' 'Strange' - a trance / dub piece with great words and chorus. ELX's ambient 'Feel Free to Breath' with programmed beats, trumpet and double bass. Moodphase 5ive's soul / rap track and the Hambe Kahle Funeral Parlours' Kwaito / dub making a welcome change to a genre fouled up in it's own gold chain.
