Niklas Zimmer's recording session with James Webb on Infinite Coastline owes as much to deliberate choice as it does to complete chance. Random creation - an improvised, but deliberate start and an indeterminate path. Throwing sounds out to see what comes back, choosing, of course, what you keep in the end. Chiming percussion and dense keyboard pads filtered through effects pedals, mixed with short-wave radio and dictaphone samples. There's a definite ambient beauty which is constantly being interrupted by sharp shards of electronic sound and / or cymbals of various calibre. Like a numb office space caught in a timeless stream of sunlight, possessed, in the corner, by a demon fax machine which never received enough attention as a child. Actually fucking brilliant.
