Title:
Serial Boyfriend This seems to me to be a bit like a collection of songs that have been sitting around for some time. Perhaps it's a sideline thing that has been put off until now. As co-owner of the v.cool Bassline club in Melville, Frank has been in the right company all along. Recruiting Barry Van Zyl (drums), Concord (bass) and Anton LaMour (electric guitar), Frank and his writer / partner Michael Maxwell surely have chosen well. Unfortunately, one cannot expect a good band to make standard songs sound interesting. Kind of happy summer rock songs that are ok - it's mostly the singing that bugs me - delivered in a monotonous take on Yankee passion that is too self conscious to be convincing. 'Just Wondering' is about the best thing on here, coming close to care-free. Nice cover and even better poster campaign.
